Gachiakuta Anime Casts Kana Hanazawa as Amo Ahead of Episode 10 Premiere
The summer 2025 action anime Gachiakuta has added popular voice actress Kana Hanazawa (known for Mitsuri Kanroji in Demon Slayer) as the mysterious new character Amo. She will debut in Episode 10 on September 14. The series, based on Kei Urana’s manga, is currently streaming on Crunchyroll worldwide.

The official X (formerly Twitter) account for Gachiakuta has revealed that acclaimed voice actress Kana Hanazawa will join the cast as Amo, a pivotal new character set to appear in Episode 10, airing in Japan on September 14, 2025.
According to the anime’s official website, Amo is described as:
“A girl who lives alone in a tower that rises out of the desert No Man's Land, Penta. She wears shoes that bear the same logo as Rudo's gloves.”
Kana Hanazawa commented on her role, noting:
“Reading the manga, when I saw Amo’s courageous journey through childhood and her indescribable loneliness, I knew I wanted to try playing her even though it would be such a difficult role. I’m looking forward to watching the series too.”

Story Overview
Gachiakuta follows Rudo, a boy from the slums of a floating town where the rich discard their garbage into the abyss below. Wrongfully accused of murder, Rudo is exiled into the wastelands of discarded trash. There, monstrous beings roam, and he must master a mysterious new power while joining the Cleaners, a group fighting to survive against terrifying “trash beasts” and uncover the truth behind his fate.
