Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Dominates Japan Box Office for 8th Weekend, Gundam Wing Endless Waltz Leads Mini-Theater Ranking
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle has held the No.1 spot at the Japanese box office for an eighth consecutive weekend, surpassing 31.4 billion yen and becoming the fastest film in Japan to cross the 30 billion yen milestone. Meanwhile, Gundam Wing Endless Waltz Special Edition topped the mini-theater ranking as part of the franchise’s 30th anniversary celebrations.

According to Kogyo Tsushinsha, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle remained at the top of the Japanese weekend box office (September 5-7, 2025) for the eighth straight weekend. The film earned 804 million yen (approx. 5.46 million USD) from 501,000 admissions, marking a 26.6% decline compared to the previous week.
The Demon Slayer official X (formerly Twitter) account confirmed that the movie has now grossed a cumulative 31,425,916,900 yen (213.2 million USD) from over 22 million admissions in 52 days. The film also achieved a historic milestone as the fastest film in Japan to surpass 30 billion yen, breaking the record previously held by Mugen Train, which reached the mark in its ninth weekend.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, the Endless Waltz Special Edition—a theatrical compilation of the 1998 OVA—opened in 10 theaters across Japan for a two-week limited screening starting September 5. It debuted at No.1 in the mini-theater ranking. The re-release is also scheduled to screen at the Japan Society in New York City later this fall.
Summer Pockets Finale
The fourth and final compilation film of Summer Pockets, Shiroha Naruse Arc, ranked second in the mini-theater chart. The project screened across 26 theaters between August 15 and September 11, with previous arcs also ranking high in earlier weekends.
