Welcome to the Outcast’s Restaurant! Anime Casts Yuhko Kaida as Jean
The Summer 2025 cooking-themed fantasy anime Welcome to the Outcast’s Restaurant! has announced that veteran voice actress Yuhko Kaida will join the cast as Jean, the foster mother of protagonist Dennis. Jean is set to make her debut in Episode 7, airing in Japan on August 14, 2025. The series is currently streaming on Crunchyroll worldwide.

The official website for the Summer 2025 TV anime Welcome to the Outcast’s Restaurant! revealed on August 11 that acclaimed voice actress Yuhko Kaida will voice Jean, the foster mother of main character Dennis.
Jean is the head chef of Black’s Restaurant and the one who took in the orphaned Dennis, raising him as her own while teaching him essential survival and cooking skills. Her first appearance in the anime will be in Episode 7, which is scheduled to air in Japan on August 14, 2025.
Speaking about her role, Kaida said:
“I was given the role of Jean, a wonderful mentor and mother with great love and strength. This series itself is inspiring, so I want to work with the cast and staff to make it even better. I’d be happy to continue appearing in future episodes—please enjoy and support us so that can happen!”

Based on the light novel series by Yuki Kimikawa (story) and Gaou (illustrations), Welcome to the Outcast’s Restaurant! premiered in Japan on July 3, 2025. The story follows Dennis, a former superstar adventurer who is expelled from the world’s strongest party. Teaming up with Atelier, a runaway girl, Dennis opens an Adventurer’s Restaurant, serving mouthwatering dishes to a variety of unusual patrons. Each customer brings unique challenges, and Dennis uses his culinary skills, butcher’s knife, and wok to solve problems and warm hearts.
